   =====================

I am pleased to announce a new release of Price.

PRICE (Precision Raster Image Convolution Engine) is an image filtering and
processing program. Currently it is capable of opening and saving tiffs. On
gnustep using the new loader by Alexander Malmberg) and on Macos-X it is
capable of opening more formats (jpeg, gif...).

The official site is: http://price.sf.net

Where I updated and inserted some documentation, example images and general
explanations about the filters.

During the development of PRICE some gnustep related bugs were discovered
and many of them have a fix in the current CVS version, it may be worth
trying out

the most asked about are:
    - zoom is broken (works in cvs)
    - more image type loading (works with cvs)
    - art displays some greyscale tiffs wrong (fixed in CVS)
    - the color spaces are wrong for filtered images (fixed in CVS both for
art and xlib)
    - NSPopUpButton in "Trace Edges" are disabled (a new patch to be tested
further is currently in CVS)

One bug, or at least different behavior than on o-sx are the text fields.
You need to confirm by pressing enter for every entry. Clicking on another
field is not enough (is this correct?).

What Changed from 0.2.7 ?
    - many gnustep specific fixes (some of them were bugs on OS-X too but I
didn't notice) like the image clipping, etc
    - a first version of TraceEdges filter is implemented
    - many bug fixes

-Riccardo

PS The application is GPL and so are the filters inside. Thus sharing the
code with other developers entangled in image processing/viewing is welcome.
