Sounds like a good idea. But I think having a xmpp framework would be 
nice anyway if xmpp's use is extended to other applications than IM. I 
don't think it would take long to just write a frontend to gaim core 
so it's a good short term solution, but in the end, I think it would 
be much better to have robust xmpp framework. I began looking at the 
xmpp ietf drafts and I may be able to work on that, but I was looking 
for a xml framework because I don't want to and don't feel able to 
write low level xml code. I'll think about it. But don't be expect too 
much. I'll tell you if I can't do it anyway.
