after installing gnustep-make it should be available as 
[install-dir]/System/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh, you need to source that script 
into your running shell (eg:  . [filename] in bash) to set up some 
environment variables. you will want to have this file sourced through your 
.bashrc (or equivalent).
