I've run into several (but rare) problems with gcc29, gcc30 and gcc32,
all related to protocols, where ultimately gcc will encounter an
internal error in"dwarf2out_finish at dwarf2out.c". An example would be
NNTPServer.m in Alex' LuserNET.
A 'fix' would be updating your ports to current and install gcc33.
