gcc version

Subject: gcc version

ive just noticed my distro comes with gcc 3.0.1 ( as well as the gcc 2.96 ive 
been using ). Would i be better of using this version of gcc3 ( rather than 
2.96 with the gnustep-objc runtime ) ?
