What about gdl?

How would JDBC compare to gdl?

If it's to replicate entirely JDBC and its "drivers", I don't see the
effectiveness. If it's to integrate Java, RMI and reuse the JDBC
"drivers", then why not? Is there any JDBC driver for a database for
which we don't have a gdl adaptor?
