When one starts porting an application from GNUstep to Cocoa he/she will
face several issues concerning the GNUstep extensions to OpenStep. Since
you shurely don't want to take out all the use of GNUstep extensions from
the source, you will start to write some compatibility headers of some sort. If
everybody does this on it's own, we will end up with a
bunch of incompatible solutions and double work.
A solution would be to create a GNUstepExtension.Framework for Mac OS X, as
Dirk Theisen
<d.theisen@objectpark.de> suggested. If all the work is done on one common
effort, we all will enjoy a better quality.
I don't know yet what is required to create such a Framework. Anyway, I'd
like to hear from you what you think about it and how this could possibly
created. Such a thing could be important in the future when applications
for GNUstep start to appear in droves (I hope that will happen soon) and
waiting to be ported.
