I found out myself how it must be:
1. "." is a shortcut for "source" in bash
2. "." is a shortcut for "pwd" in tcsh
-> the right command is:
source /opt/GNUstep/System/Makefiles/GNUstep.csh
and it has to be in ~/.cshrc for tcsh.
I can't use bash since it is not installed.
