Ok Gang - A demo of recording the entire AM broadcast band is up, powered by
gnuradio, enough to get started, here:
http://musicriver.homeunix.com:8100
note the odd port. You enter the frequency you want to listen to and stream the
audio from:
http://musicriver.homeunix.com:8000
with your favorite mp3 media player, if you're into that type of thing
(listening
to static trying to pick out intelligence).
The data file there now is about 5 minutes captured at 5:30PM yesterday,
which is right after local sunset so we get some interesting terminator
propagation
effects. For instance, while listening to the static on 1080 I just heard
WKBY fade
in after a minute then sign off after another minute.
There'll be a more/better recordings as I make them - there's one twenty
minute set from
6PM yesterday I haven't even listened to yet - plus notes of what to tune
for, like 560
WJLS, 640 WGST Atlanta, 650 WSM is big, etc.
Don't everybody listen at once - I've only a consumer grade broadband with
maybe 20KBsp
upstream on a good day. If there's a problem try again later.
Thanks.
