Hi Richard,

I downloaded the latest version just now and the file typesets just fine.
I suspect that somehow my June6 version must have become corrupt (but how, I have no idea).
Apologies for unnecessary correspondence.

Since I am doing it a lot, converting EbSax music for Bb Clarinet, I use the screen shown a lot.
I would have thought it more intuitive to have the lower octaves below the upper ones, so invert the order of 1-7.

Just a thought

Adding two minims fixes Check Score.
you mean one minim in each of the mirrored staffs' final bars, I
presume? The last bars should all have the same one minim's worth of
notes (or rests).

 However there is still a
typesetting error, so I get an error message about using Checkscore
an error message suggesting you use Check Score that is.

I have attached the lilypond export file

When I run lilypond on it

Press any key to continue . . .
C:\Users\joean\Desktop\DenMusic>"C:\Program Files
(x86)\LilyPond\usr\bin\lilypond" -dgui
GNU LilyPond 2.18.2

the command prompt never returns to the Command window and no output
I get this(*):

rshann@debian:~$ /usr/bin/lilypond -dgui Desktop/
GNU LilyPond 2.18.2

so it seems that something is bad with your LilyPond or how you are
launching it from a command prompt. If you open the LilyPond window in
Denemo and right-click choosing "Typeset this LilyPond text" what
output do you get in the lower pane after "Typesetting ..."?

If you start deleting stuff from the score at what point does it start
working (I guess a blank score still typesets?)

(*) I've also transferred your to an ancient windows laptop
and dropped it onto the LilyPond icon and it generated test3.pdf and a
clean test3.log ...
