This test prints and runs fine when compiled with gtk-3 and libevince-3. 
I use this to compile it:

gcc evince_test.c -o test `pkg-config --libs --cflags evince-view-3.0` 
`pkg-config --libs --cflags gtk+-3.0`

I will glance over it and see if I notice anything also.
