After getting out an initial release of a slightly changed python
debugger http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=61395
and a announcement on the generic Python newsgroup
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.python/browse_thread/thread/b4cb720ed359a733/fbd9f8fef9693e58#fbd9f8fef9693e58
I have perhaps second thoughts about holding off on a release of DDD.

There may be a bit of variation, possibly large, on the python
debugger.

As far as a name goes, for now I've been calling in pydb -- the name
that DDD uses. But there's always a (small) chance that something like
this might get into the base Python code and then it's possible it
would called pdb.py.

This variation aside, I think there may be others. Not just to the
debugger but to the DDD debugger support. Since pdb.py just doesn't
seem to have the vast number of features that it might, they can't get
reflected by DDD. And DDD can make use of lots of debugger features.

Also, the GNU Make change was somewhat large. And finally I'm
uncertain how much time I can put into new effort or when it will be
done. I may have or get too many irons in the fire.

Sorry for my flip-flopping.
