Attaching to a Child After a Fork

Hello:

I have an application that forks a child which runs for a very short 
period of time.  I'd like to see the execution of the child.  Since the 
child only runs for a short period of time, I'm not able to get the PID 
in order to attach to it.  How can I debug the child?
