Hi,

The anonymous CVS access is back. If you want to give it a try
on cygwin (or any other platform):
#1 Get the tree with CVS.
#2 Use "./CVSMake".
#3 Apply the fix described in "PROBLEMS" (it is a workaround
for a g++ bug on Cygwin).
#4 As usual, "./configure --prefix=XXX && make".

The configure code has been updated to be compliant with
the most recent versions of the autotools available on Cygwin
(autoconf 2.59, automake 1.7.9, libtool 1.5). Using libtool
1.5 is essential on Cygwin. Additionally, some other little fixes
have been made to make the build on Cygwin possible.

Please report your results on this list. Note that lesstif problems
need to be dealt with the lesstif and/or cygwin guys.

Regards,

well, we will see.... I am having some trouble building stuff on Cygwin
-- perhaps because I am not clued in to the Cygwin way of doing things
-- as you may notice if you have been following the cygwin-xfree list
the last few days. (that 'nearly' out of the box gets me ... ) On the
other hand having good working debugger freely available on many
platforms is very very useful to me so I am happy to help.

Thanks to Harold Hunt, the cygwin package lesstif-0.93.91-6 should
incorporate the fix for the bug that I encountered while using ddd a few
months ago (a bug in lesstif that is) This is not at all the mirrors
yet, so if you are using lesstif-0.93.91-5 or earlier I bet it crashes
when certain kinds of dialog box/widget are opened. (SeparatoG.c bug in
lesstif -- caused a segfault when updating a Gnuplot graph sometimes --
one line fixed in the code )
However, Harold says that the cygwin 0.93.94 package that he built has
many problems still, but it should be available as an experimental
package from some servers. The main thing he mentioned was problems with
nedit (I don't use that) , maybe it doesn't have problems with ddd?
