Adoption of DDD for a new command line debugger.

Hi there, 
I'm developing, along with my team, a command line debugger for a specific
internal project at Intel. Can I compile/teach DDD to be the GUI for our
debugger? Where can I find resources about that? 
Note: our debugger is being developed under Linux, and it is used to debug
scripts/HW for a specific internal project.
