Thank you for your response, Berny.
It does not specify whether or not the `+` goes outside the double
quotes or not.
I understand the goal of conciseness, but not at the expense of useful
examples.
You could change the example to:
date "+%T"
if you'd like.
The point is, no example shows use of the `+` with a format string.
What is the argument for not including that?
