blurb: gnu-pw-mgr is a password manager. It works by generating
+ passwords by a method that hashes a secret password ID and an initial
+ seed value and then modifying the results according to the password
+ requirements (acceptable characters, number of characters, etc.). The
+ ID is constructed by the user in a common way for all passwords, for
+ example by adding a common prefix and suffix to the hostname (e.g., a
+ password for gnu.org might have the ID "my gnu.org pass" and one for
+ fsf.org would have the ID "my fsf.org pass"). Neither the password ID
+ nor the actual password are stored on the system. When retrieving the
+ password, the user enters the secret password ID and the password is
+ recomputed on the fly.
