We'd rather see the ChangeLog entry instead.  ;)  ChangeLog itself
requires no change log entry but the other files you modified do and I
see you put those in... great!

Easiest way to do checkins is to make all your changes and in a
ChangeLog.new file put your usual ChangeLog entries.  When you're
done, do one last update, resolve conflicts, and add your ChangeLog
entry to ChangeLog.  Then from the directory ChangeLog is in do a 

% cvs ci .

In the log message, read in ChangeLog.new, delete your date/name line,
and remove the spaces/tabs before the entries and delete blank lines.
