Not a bad idea, but I would suggest to merge the specific fix back to
the release version, since I have committed some changes to HEAD that
lead to some smaller regressions in Swing, not very noticable but
anyway. More specifically, the effect of the changes is that sometimes
Swing components don't get updated on screen when they should. I am
going to fix this soon, but this needs some evaluation on my side, so I
don't introduce this repaint loop thing again.
