Courage is required to face the task ahead, trusting in God's grace to help us through.
It is not their skill, or knowledge, or might, or the brilliance of the abilities displayed in building the temple, but rather, a complete and utter God fixated dependence and hope. What is accomplished is not stated explicitly, but God will only accomplish His purposes. God knows David's situation and cares, and is willing to act on David's behalf.
Because, really, that would be a great topic.
God has a plan and a purpose for us and He is accomplishing it! But, it is more than an acknowledgement of need. And I covered them with Chaumes. But, it is more than an acknowledgement of need.
God knows David's situation and cares, and is willing to act on David's behalf.
This is part of fallen human nature: it happens in our churches today all the time. My living room was just the tribune for the splendid fireworks on the cinder path and soccer square in front of my terrace and windows. The devil will try to distract us; fill our lives with worthless and purposeless clutter, but God is actively fufilling His purpose for us. The immeasureable greatness of His power in us - that same power that has already been displayed in Christ!
This busy world is one tactic of the enemy to take us away from God. When all the sources of distraction, whether self inflicted or not, come to a halt, what do our thoughts return to?
But what does Outlook care! I have of those yummy baby pears.
It is this attitude of heart that prompts God to reveal Himself to His people. Every aspect of Israel's life is focussed on obedience to God and a turning to Him in repentance and expectation. It's not a great victory in battle, neither is it the greatness of the building that is being dedicated, yet, from God's perspective this is the important part.
What is accomplished is not stated explicitly, but God will only accomplish His purposes. God knows David's situation and cares, and is willing to act on David's behalf.
I cried a bit for that today, because I really want to write down what goes on in my mind. It was difficult though. You would think it rude to leave a friend alone, who came to visit you: why then must GOD be neglected?
