fyiI was browsing through sf.net history, and found that this year a start of another CHM compiler was registered. One that actually seems to have some code available.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/chmc/It is still in the initial phases though (implemented the basic archive structure I guess). Author's name is Alex Andreotti, which doesn't ring a bell with me.
