I am using CentOS4 for this thing,
(whereas I usually use debian or ubuntu)
and compat-gcc-32.x86_64 is installed.

$ find /usr/lib/ -name libgcc_s_32.so
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.3/libgcc_s_32.so
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.2.3/libgcc_s_32.so

Probably, this is not the right one.
