 Ok, this seems to run fine on a 64-bit NetBSD machine. From the bug-report
 I gather that high-optimization settings are used, have you built with
 `OPTIMIZE_FOR_SPEED=1`? If yes, try to build chicken with the default
 optimizations. If that works, you have a gcc bug.
