 if you could, please try it again with the current trunk?  ive made some
 changes to the mingw build and have been successful with a full
 build/install on winxp under mingw.  i dont know about msys, nor about
 mingw on vista.  chicken works for both cygwin and mingw on xppro as of
 today, with proper dynamic library loading.
