this is more likely an issue with pcre than with chicken. that regexp
contains almost everything in the 'what not to do' pcreperformance page.
has this particular expression worked before in chicken, is it part of the
normal stress tests? if not, this doesnt seem like a critical bug.
unbounded recursion in superexponential space should cause segfaults.
