apply-test.scm, fixnum-tests.scm, path-tests.scm, embedded1.c
are not in the tarball.   when copied from svn head, the tests ran fine. 
also, /usr/lib/chicken/<n> is not created from the tarball distribution.
after installing from the tarball, remaking svn head went fine, no warnings
or errors.  only problem is that /usr/lib/chicken/<n> is still not created,
although with the first chicken-setup everything is created fine. 
the problem must have been from how i bootstrapped the install before.
