Thanks, but I think we should change this around and remove C_mutate2,
in favor of C_mutate. This requires changing the code that calls mutate2
of course.
Also, this has been changed after the 4.8.0 release, so I think this
can't be removed just yet.
We'll probably do a very large cleanup of obsolete stuff just before or
just after the 5 release. There's a lot of cruft lying around, also from
the numbers integration.
