By git snapshots you mean the tarballs from
http://code.call-cc.org/dev-snapshots ?
If so, you don't need to bootstrap Chicken. They are tarballs that
already contain the Scheme files compiled to C, so you just need a C
compiler (no need to bootstrap, no need to have an installed Chicken).
