I'll put together an example system for this based on mtn. Once done I'll 
open it up to anyone interested to try out and debate. I think it'd be 
great to see several aproaches showcased. I would be very interested in 
seeing other examples based on different SCM systems.

Are you also looking at possibly reworking the egg format as part of 
this?
