I vote for 'bsd. As e.g. solaris is very different from bsd
but it's still a unix. If you want to do some os-specific stuff
this kind of information maybe needed.
Last but not least it's a common practice allready if you think
of the preprocessor directives of gcc. which is even __FreeBSD__
and the like.

That said, i could be totally wrong if this is supposed to be used
somewhere else than what i had in mind.
