Hi Reuben,

Good call.  You may be overstating the readiness of my two experiments with 
syntax highlighting, but there are at least some proofs of concept on unmerged 
branches somewhere in git :)

My impression is that GSoc is more receptive to concrete projects with 
available mentors, though I'm already stretched too thin to volunteer to for 
either of those myself :(
