That's entirely understandable! We'll have to see what happens with
that. There are about 70-odd individual commits that matter, and some
of them are quite simple (for example, various individual C functions
that I found ways to simplify). The more complex work is around the
buffer implementation, which we clearly want to port to the Lua
branches eventually, as part of the "right way" to speed up the Lua
implementation.
