It is supposed to be supported by any softawre which does BD at all.

Different from DVD media types, multi-layer BD media are not especially
distinguished from single-layer meda in MMC-6 specs.
The specs only talk of "SL" and "DL" media. I understand 100 GB BDXL
has three layers.

There are some success reports about burning via libburn to BD-R DL
media.

In one case, a LG WH12LS39 drive seems to have a firmware bug with
about 64 KB around the middle of the BD-R DL capacity. It shows up
when trying to read these blocks via libburn. The drive throws error
"ILLEGAL REQUEST" which normally means that there are non-data
blocks. (But BD have no non-data block formats. Only CD have.)

It is not clear yet whether the problem is with reading alone
or whether the media were badly written. It is clear that another
drive (ASUS BW-12D1S-U) was able to perform the same write and
checkread job flawlessly.
(Still waiting for some answers from the user.)

libburn, cdrskin, and xorriso are supposed to have everything that's
needed. Xfburn >= 0.5.2 is supposed to be ready, too.

If anything is missing yet, then users will have to report and help
with making experiments.
Alternatively i would accept media donations. (Most modern burner
at hand: LG BH16NS40, claims to be "BDXL compatible". Mail delivery
would have to go to germany.)

So my proposal:
Get that BDXL burner and some media. Try whether it works and
report success or failure. In case of failure we will make a plan
how to diagnose and work around.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
