I don't really work on xboard anymore, so you should ask address@hidden about problems. I've cc'ed the list on this reply.

I can't tell from your message whether installing or running xboard "fails". Most likely it is installing fine, but it wants to use fairymax as its chess engine by default. If you wanted to use some other chess engine, please read the man page to find out how. If you wanted to do something other than play against a chess engine, please read the man page to find out how. Or if you want to play against fairymax, you have to install it too. (I don't have help for you on that.)

Hello dear Tim,

I want to install xboard on openSuSE 11.2 but somehow it fails both
as -.tar.gz file and as -.rpm file, because xboard is asking for
fairymax at localhost.

What should I do step by step from beginning to end ???

At google there is no entry, what to do under openSuSE 11.2

Sorry, I dont want to get on your nerves. Please be patient with me. LOL.

Thank you for your reponse.
Happy Hacking.
