I guess so, although it makes the HTML output very verbose.

There is still the issue with translation and spaces around
punctuation in some languages.  I suppose it is also possible for the
colon to be replaced with another mark altogether.  So we are left
with translating the string ": " with the intention that it becomes
" : " in French.  Does anybody else have a clue about this?

What's not possible with the current approach is changing the word
order, e.g. translating "Function: foo" as "foo: Function".  A quick
glance through the *.po files under po_document suggests that no
languages need this.

At this point there is no point in calling gdt.
