I would like to have this configurable :-)
Yeah, I know people have different opinions about it. It would be easy
enough to make it configurable in TeX. I don't think we should try to
override browser behavior, though.
Additionally, if you break before such characters, it would be
possible to break at `-' also:
Yes, I can see that.
However, it turns out my mail was premature, and I reverted the changes.
They didn't work inside @example, due to \scantokens newline-inserting
behavior and active ^^M's, etc. Oleg and I are refactoring ...
