Follow-up Comment #1, bug #13440 (project sourceinstall):
The bug revealed itself, and it had nothing to do with g++.
It seems a problem in expect itself (global timeout value set to -1 is being
IGNORED by expect in procedures, regardless of the correct 'global timeout'
declaration in the proc itself. It went to a value of 10, and g++, which
compiles slowly, can take more than 10 seconds per file, resulting in a
process desync.
Implemented workaround, soon in CVS.
