I'd encourage you to consider translating the Texinfo manual before the man
pages.
The Gnu project considers man pages of secondary importance.

Hi all,
I'm the German translator of recutils. The po files are hosted at
translationproject.org (TP). In addition to the UI strings, I like to
translate the man pages.
The best way would be to implement po4a [1] for creating the pot template,
updating existing po files and handle them via TP. For an example of such
an
implementation have a look at the sources of the console newsreader tin
[2].
There's a working gettext/po4a stack, which has been added recently to the
TP.
The latest version 2.2 [3] already contains translated man pages, but
there
doesn't seem to be a VCS repo.
