Parted can do everything fsresize could do, and more! (fsresize
couldn't shrink the cluster size) fsresize is no longer maintained, so
I don't recommend you use it.

I have a copy... I wonder where I can make a public repository of
all parted versions available? Any suggestions?

I see. Parted is reasonably configurable wrt what you include/exclude.
The motivation for merging partitioning and file system tools was
the fact that you almost always want to do the two together. Not
to mention cache-coherency and constraint issues. Wouldn't you want
Parted on your credit-card-size-CD?

Cheers,
