Help with parted.

Hello,
        I am testing some new code I wrote for GNU/Hurd.  The new code is
a small rewrite of gnu_new(..);.  There where a few bugs here and there that
I fixed.  Now, in GNU/Hurd you can use store typed names or actual paths like
/dev/hd2.  But, I am testing all of the error catching if's lol.  I am 
wondering how I might be able to get parted to open a disk readonly so I can 
test that?
