bootdisk won't recognize keyboard

I recently built myself a new computer based off the Asus A7A-266 mobo. When 
trying to start up parted, at the linux "pass options" prompt everything 
works fine, but when I hit enter there are several error of "no keyboard 
found". Mandrake 8.2 boots fine, but I want to do some major revisions 
before installing MDK 9.0.

Do I need to "pass options", or does the bootdisk need more keyboard support?
