resizing problem |

Hi,
I resized my root partition by parted. I erased two partitions that i didn't
need anymore and then
i resized my root partition onto this unused space.
After resizing I suppose that free space on the root partition should become
larger than old value
but nothing changed. I see same output of df -h command before resizing.
Do i need to do something anymore ? Overview of some commands before and
after resizing are following.
Thank you,
Before Resizing:
address@hidden root]# fdisk /dev/hda
The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 1229.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)
Command (m for help): p
