Huh? I would much prefer you used "a lib that needs to be resolved".
JFS does have a lib, but unfortunately, mkfs, etc. aren't in it.
Anyway, look at the way reiserfs support is implemented in Parted...
that's how I'd prefer jfs support happens too.
