Andrew,

ok... after a lot frustration I finally managed to boot off a floppy. I put
parted-boot on a separate floppy, put it in the drive and did:

# mount /mnt/floppy
# cd /mnt/floppy
# LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.
# ./parted-boot /dev/hda

now I get the following:

> Using: /dev/hda
> Error: Can't have a partition outside the disk!

now what am I doing wrong?

thx - e r i c k

Use the parted-boot RPM.

Or compile yourself.

        ./configure --disable-nls --without-readline --disabel-shared
