Hi Don,
This is unusual!
(1) Parted is detecting your partition table as a BSD partition
table. How did you create this partition table? (It looks
like you really want a msdos partition table... there are msdos
signatures too)
(2) There was a bug in the BSD partition table code, which you
found for us ;-)
