Hi,
I can not compile ncurses (5.5) on 11.23, PA-RISC:
../configure

/usr/lib/dld.sl: Invalid version for shared library:
/usr/local/lib/libiconv.sl
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Exec format error
../config.status[1125]: 5451 Abort(coredump)
creating headers.sh

The errors you're showing aren't pointing to ncurses as a problem,
but the way the libiconv.sl is built. I'd suggest to build ncurses without libiconv first to see that the development environment is setup properly.

I understand, but how to do it? I do not see such option in ncurses "configure". And my gcc binary (4.1.0) depends on libiconv (according to chatr)...

ouch. I understand generally what you're saying, but havent encountered this problem myself. I don't recall if chatr can provide details on the versions (only that it displays or sets path information). Aside from some work with HPUX 9 (where it was rather fragile), I haven't used gcc on HPUX.

I am asking here for a case if somebody have met the same situation...

that's possible, but I don't recall many people discussing HPUX
