Depending on which I choose, one or the other of the programs using that configure macro works or not.Right, you can't define _POSIX_C_SOURCE, iirc on os x 10.4, because if you do, you don't get all the neat extra non-POSIX types. This was a bug you fixed over a year ago.
It might be possible to define it selectively for certain files (we did something like that long ago for some pre-POSIX platforms). But it does tie the code into knots.
