Summary:  Segmentation Fault on Fedora Core 1

Original Submission:  I am running Fedore Core 1 on an Intel Pentium IV 
machine. On running scheme, I simply get 'Segmentation Fault' and the program 
aborts. Compilation from source (using gcc 3.3.2) also fails...
