README.git says that the following should work, but it fails for me:
git clone git://git.savannah.gnu.org/make.git
cd make
autoreconf -i
I get failures under both Fedora 20 and Ubuntu 14.04 (attached).
Evidently I'm doing something wrong but it's not clear what, and this
makes it hard to proceed.
