Is this the version of GNU make from Cygwin?  That version is not
identical to the version that is provided by the FSF (source code
obtainable at ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/make/), so if you have
system-specific problems with that version you should probably ask the
Cygwin folks.


If this is the version obtained from the FSF, then you might try asking
on the address@hidden mailing list; people on that list are generally
more knowledgeable about Windows issues.
